• To receive and process all purchase invoices, expense forms and customer receipts
• Verify calculations and input codes in to the ERP system in an accurate manner.

Requirements

• Minimum 2-3 years experience in similar role

Okay, this is not exactly an original-themed movie; it is the remake of the Bollywood-blockbuster Three Idiots.  However, unlike other remakes, this one has done a decent job of initiating few good laughs and has not wandered off the original plot too much.

The cast of the film have held the story well and have thrown in good performance. The biggest surprise of the film is Sathyaraj as the hard-nosed principal.  He carries off the role so immortalized by Boman Irani in the Bollywood version of the film.

Harris Jeyaraj proves his musical talent once again, particularly Asku Laska.

Nanban is an absolutely joyous movie to watch even if you watched the original. Never fails to tickle your funny bone.

The video you are going to see depicts the typical life of a Kerlalite. From the state of the roads to hartals and the impressions of a bus passenger, it is heartwarming to see the bond the individual shares with their state.

In his latest film Indian Rupee, director Renjtih has created a film that opens up the thought process about conditions of homeland. No big drama here, this is a simple, well shot movie that engrosses the movie-goer from start to finish.

The story is simple. It is about JP aka Jayaprakash (Prithviraj) is a small time real estate dealer based in Kozhikode, who dreams of making it big some day. He believes that his fortunes are up for a change, when Achutha Menon (Thilakan), an old city dweller approaches him to sell off his land assets. The deal goes kaput, contrary to JP’s expectations, but Menon stays back with him.

The film also boasts of spectacular songs, especially ‘Ee Puzhayum’ sung by Vijay Yesudas and composed by Shahbaz Aman, which transfers you into another world. Cinematography by S. Kumar is gleaming as well, and preserves the zest of the film in all vivid detail.

Indian Rupee is a brightly scripted and constructed film that keeps you guessing till the very end. It is a passionate and provocative film, in which almost everything associated with it is first-rate.

A must watch.

Prince Varma has given concerts all over India and in USA, UK, France, Germany, Kuwait, Dubai and The Netherlands, to mention a few.  His first CD was released at The Queen Elizabeth Hall, London and he has performed at some of the most prestigious venues in Europe.

Sevens, directed by Joshy is about young men, passionate about football and how they inadvertently get involved in a crime. The film has its interesting moments, well shot action sequences, tuneful songs and appealing visuals and the few defining moments in the movie make you ponder on the plight of the social system. 

Music director Bijibal has come up with few good songs, the best of them being ’Kkaalamonnu Kaalal.’  The movie also has an impressive background score which adds to the emotions on screens.

Verdict: A movie worth watching for its sheer treatment of a new concept.

Chappa Kurishu is the kind of film that makes the characters feel real thereby losing out on the audience’s interest in the narrative.

Fahad Fazil plays Arjun, a charming yet shrewd business man trying to realize his dream projects with help of Sonia (Ramya Nambeeshan). Engaged to bubbly Ann (Roma), he is also involved with Sonia who is willing to do anything for him.   Vineeth Sreenivasan is Ansari, a submissive sales boy at the supermarket, trying hard to make ends meet, always in silent battle with the world outside including his manager. Ansari seeks comfort in the company of Abidha, his co – worker.

Both these lead men have their own principles and their outlook towards life which are never parallel. How those principles throw a spanner in their lives forms the crux of the story.

The film is shot well, is slick and technically a notch above most film in terms of cinematography.  Chaapa Kurishu defies cliches by not making the rich guy look like a complete villain and the poor guy an innocent hero. Attempting the grey areas that are less explored in Malayalam industry, Samir’s movie has characters that evoke our sympathy and anger at the same time.

The film revolves around a retired and well-to-do army officer, Palamattathu Varghese Mappila (Saikumar), and his family. His family comprises two sons, Christy (Mohanlal) and Joby (Dileep) and daughters Jessy (Lakshmi Gopalaswamy) and Stella (Kanika). While Christy works as an informer in Mumbai, Joby is sent abroad to study theology. 
Christy gets high remuneration while his brother Joby who goes abroad to study theology, opts out after he falls in love. Meanwhile, Christy falls in with a dubious crowd in Mumbai. His family has no clear idea about the nature of his activities. All these come as a shock to Varghese Mappila. Eventually, he becomes disappointed in his sons and turns his attention to his daughters, hoping that they marry well. There are several twists and turns that the story goes through before it unveils the truth.

Marykkundru Kunjadu is a movie with promises of laughter and entertainment, thrown in with all the hit formulae.

In the film, Dileep plays Solomon, a village simpleton who has been nicknamed Kunjadu, since he is adept at getting beaten up by people. He is however in love with a village belle Mary (Bhavana) but is at loggerheads with her three brothers of gigantic propotions, which calls to reason that life is not easy for the young lover. When he befriends a giant of a man who calls himself Vishnu (Biju Menon) and whom he saves from a well, Solomon starts life afresh, and learns to set his spine straight for once.

Director Shafi who knows his moves right, there after never let loose and packs just about everything to entertain you for the next two hours. The screenplay by Benny P Nayarambalam is pretty tight and his dialogue lines are as usual, laced with wit and soaked in humour to bring the house down on several occasions.

Dileep sleep walks through a role devoid of any heroism but as usual his comic timing is flawless. Biju Menon after a long time has a role to cherish, Bhavana in her comeback looks casual and adorable while the rest of the cast are appreciable in their respective roles. But Salim Kumar seems to have missed to convert a role of potential to the needed dimensions. Music by Bernny-Ignatious is good.

Verdict: Marykkundoru Kunjadu is definitely a box office winner.

Director Ranjith has been throwing surprises to the audience of late and his ‘Prachiyettan and the Saint’ is one such attempt at bringing to light the colours of a society and its hankering for status and recognition. However this movie is his funniest till date, being complex and comic at the same time. Pranchiyettan (Mammootty) as he is affectionately referred to by his aides and contemporaries has everything going for him in his life, but lives every moment of it in utter discontentment. Teaming up with Mammootty, who once again displays his finesse in judging and selecting roles of content, the movie remains as one of the best in recent times in terms of the characterisation of the protagonist and the use of fine narrative techniques. Basically the movie is the story of Chirammal Eanashu Francis, a self made affluent rice merchant, who is always insecure about his societal status due to his low education and nickname ‘Aripraanchy’ that followed him throughout his life. Ouseppachan in BG scores and Venu in camera also give apt support to Renjith in bringing out a memorable movie, which may equal his bests.

The Official Mourning has now been declared with effect from Wednesday for a week, through which the flags will be flown at half mast.

Verdict: You simply cannot miss this one.

The combination of Shankar, A R Rahman, Rajinikanth, Aishwarya Rai and Sabu Cyril creates a magic that has not yet been seen or experienced thus becoming a milestone in the history of Indian cinema.

The story

Scientist Dr. Vasi (Rajnikanth), invents a robot named Chitti, who looks just like himself. Dr Bora (Danny), an important man in the field of robotics disapproves Chitti as it could endanger the human lives. In order to make Chitti compliant to the norms set by Bora, Dr. Vasi infuses feelings and emotions into Chitti who starts feeling like a human and instantly falls in love with his creator’s girlfriend Sana (Aishwarya Rai).

The rest of the story is all about what ensues between the creator and creation.

Rajnikanth has created magic as a human hero. Rajnikanth plays two roles in the film, that of the scientist and the robot. There are two shades to Robot’s character – a law-abiding robot and a rogue robot. Rajnikanth changes his body language to suit the style and mannerism of robot in an extremely believable way. He entertains you both as law-abiding robot and rogue robot. Aishwarya Rai looks gorgeous and has got an important role in the movie. Her dances are definitely an asset. Shankar, the master commercial director makes sure there are ample commercial elements and conflict points that would appeal to masses. Though it is a story of a relationship between man and machine, Shankar has beautifully showcased the human-side of the machine and mechanical side of the human. The screenplay of the movie is smooth and direction is near perfect. Shankar lets his imagination run wild during the last 30 minutes of the movie and it’s spellbinding. Music by AR Rahman is nice although we do tend to expect better music from a director of his reputation for a film of this stature. Picturization of the songs is excellent and cinematography by Ratnavelu (of Arya fame) is grand. Action sequences by Peter Heins and Yuen Woo Ping (Matrix and Kill Bill) are amazing. Visual effects and Robotronics by Stan Winston Studio (Avatar, Iron Man and Terminator) are outstanding. Art direction by Sabu Cyril is grand. Editing by Anthony is good.

First half of the movie is good and interesting. Second half is excellent. The final 30 minutes of action sequences are mind-blowing. Shankar teams up with Rajnikanth to make this logic-defying entertainer that appeal to every movie lover around. The plus points are Shankar’s storytelling, Rajnikanth’s charisma and extremely imaginative special effects/ animatronics. Robo is the best special effects film ever made in India and is definitely India’s answer to Hollywood in terms of both special effects and imagination. Go and watch it.

Shankar is well known for making big budget films. He was born in 1963, in Kumbakonam, Tamil Nadu.

Initially he worked as an assistant director to S A Chandrasekhar before directing his first film, Gentleman, in 1993.

His commercially successful films Indian (1995) and Jeans (1998) were nominated by India for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. He was also awarded with the Filmfare Best Tamil Director Award and Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Director for Anniyan (2005). His two productions, the self-directed Mudhalvan (1999) and Veyyil (2006), were awarded with the Filmfare Best Tamil Film Award; the latter also received a National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Tamil. In 2007 he was awarded an honorary doctorate by MGR University.

Later, Ranjith made his debut in Tamil with the song “Hey Penne” from the movie Aasai Aasaiyai which was released in 2003.

In his debut film Vineeth takes us to Manassery, a small village in Kerala where five youngsters, Prakash (Nivin Pauly), Santhosh (Shraavan), Praveen (Harikrishnan), Purushu (Bhagat Manuel) and Kuttu (Aju Varghese), get ready to take the biggest leap into life.

One of the most eagerly awaited films of the year, Malarvadi Arts Club  is a predictable story of friendship between five young men, seemingly inspired from Hindi films, Farhan Akhtar’s Dil Chahta Hai and Rock On.

Malarvadi Arts Club has its bit of imperfections. However the film’s music is its biggest component although it seems to score an average throughout the narration. Though one may expect moments of pure fun from the son of Sreenivasan, comedy is not a strong point of the movie. But there are satirical dialogues which reminds one of Vineeth’s father.

Veteran actors like Nedumudi Venu and Jagathy Sreekumar, popular ones like Salim Kumar and Suraj Venjarumood have added to the movie’s strength. The new faces were alright; their inexperience not that evident.  Maybe it is because there were no huge expectations from this debutant director that it rose so high in the scale of the first set of people that broke out of the theatre.

Of the performers Nivin Pauly and Bhagath Manuel seemed to score pretty high on the performance chart.

Vineeth’s arts club is not a perfect movie but some of the scenes you cannot be ignored.

Jean reviews Raavanan, one of the most awaited films of the year! Directed by Mani Rathnam, Raavanan has released to a lot of expectation. (The film has also released in Hindi as Raavan).
His verdict: Watch Raavanan without expectations. Watch it for what it offers and do not look for what you want!
The story: Veera (Vikram), as Raavanan and his elder brother Singam (Prabhu), younger brother Sakkarai (Munna) live in a tribal village. Veera runs his own local government and his followers trust his decision as the final word. He is the strength and identity of the tribe. He is loved and respected by everyone in his community so much so that they are ready to lay down their lives for him!
Dev (Prithviraj), is the special task force Superintendent of Police, along with a forest guard (Karthik) is on the hunt for Veera. His wife Ragini (Aishwarya Rai) accompanies him on his mission. However in one such capture-Veera operation, Veera’s sister Vennaila (Priyamani) is captured by the special task force and raped in the police station.
Bitter over the humiliation, Veera kidnaps Ragini and keeps her hostage for two weeks. What happens next is what makes up the movie.

Technically the film has many plus points, the main attraction being the amazing camera work by Santosh Sivan. His shots, angles and presentation are superb. The final fight between Vikram and Prithviraj is very different, with picture-perfect top angle shots and camera movements.

Mani Ratnam has sketched his characters amazingly. Hats off Santosh, you’ve done a splendid job! A R Rahman’s music is classy. Watch it for Mani Ratnam’s direction, Vikram’s performance and the beautiful locations!

Winners will be divided into groups and each group will be headed by a RJ. The team of listeners will have to complete an assigned mission like save the RJ, Capture the fort, Collect the flags etc.

Chicken Chukka Recipe

Chicken Chukka

Ingredients

Chicken:         1Kg
Onion:              1/2kg
Garlic:            6pods
Ginger:            I piece
Cumin powder: ½ tsp
Green chilly:       2-3
Kashmiri Chili powder:     2 spoons
Turmeric:                            Pinch
Tomatoes: 2
Lemon juice:  2tsp
Curry leaves
Salt
Coconut oil

Method

Clean chicken and marinate with chili powder, salt, turmeric, cumin powder, lemon juice and ginger-garlic paste for half an hour.

Heat oil in a pan. Shallow fry the chicken pieces. Remove.

In the remaining oil, fry onions. Reduce flame and add chili powder, cumin powder, chopped garlic and ginger, slit green chilies, curry leaves, turmeric powder and salt. Fry lightly. Add chopped tomatoes. Mix well. To this mixture add the chicken pieces. Cook covered on slow flame. For 3-4 minutes till juices combine with chicken.

Garnish with coriander leaves. Serve hot.

Below are the dishes we sampled!

Mushroom Biriyani recpie

Ingredients

Jeerakasala Rice:  2 Cups
Mushroom: 2 cups
Mint leaves:  3/4 packet
Coriander leaves: 1/2 Packet
Red chilies:         5
Ginger:           1 piece
Garlic:          8 cloves
Fennel seeds (perumjeerakam): 1 tsp
Cinnamon, Cloves, Cardamom: 2 each
Onion:          2
Salt
Turmeric powder: 1/4 tsp
Water: 3 cups (includes milk extracted from coconut and 1 cup mushroom gravy)
 
Method

Heat oil. Add fennel seeds, cinnamon, cloves and cardamom. Fry lightly. Add sliced onion and sauté for 2 minutes.

Grind together mint and coriander leaves, red chilies, ginger and garlic, cardamom, cloves and cinnamon. Add this ground mixture to the sautéed onion.
Sauté till it turns brown. Add mushroom and pressure cook till tender.

Soak the rice in water for ten minutes and drain it.
When the mushroom is cooked, add the soaked rice to the gravy. Add 2 cups of water (including half cup of coconut milk) and salt. Mix well. Add ghee (clarified butter)
Cover and pressure cook. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve.

Born to Gnanalekshmi and Gopinathan Pillai in Kollam on June 25, Suresh Gopi, who entered the film industry as a child artist, shot to stardom in the 1990s with Thalastanam by Shaji Kailas and scripted by Renji Panicker. In fact, all his early hits, such as Commissioner, Ekalavyam were directed by Shaji Kailas and all of them were more or less based on the police-drama theme. His role as Bharatchandran IPS in the blockbuster movie Commissioner made Suresh Gopi the darling of the industry. Renji Panicker’s dialogues which Suresh Gopi employed in English became quite popular with the masses! From then, there was no looking back!

Most of his films were dubbed in Telugu making him and instant star in Andhra Pradesh. Not only did he perfom with aplomb in his role as the Police Officer, but he also ventured into playing character roles in films such as Paithrukam and the hugely famous Manichithrathazu (1993) and Sathyan Anthikkad’s Samooham.

In 1997, with Jayaraj’s Kaliyattam (1997), an adaptation of Shakespeare’s Othello, Suresh Gopi won the precious National Film Award for Best Actor for playing Kannan Perumalayan. He proved he was more than just another mainstream actor. This certainly was a turning point in his career.

In the late 90s, he was noted for playing in Joshi’s films such as Lelam (1998) and Pathram (1999), again, scripted by Renji Panicker. He played Nasrani character Chackochi in Lelam and journalist Nandagopal in Pathram where he co-starred with Manju Warrier. Suresh Gopi, Jayaram, and Manju Warrier teamed up in Sibi Malayil’s Summer in Bethlahem (1998) which was a commercial success.

Before coming to the film world, he had displayed great interest in the field of literature; his favourite authors are Bernard Shaw and Shakespeare. He is famous for his philanthropic efforts.

In 2008, Suresh Gopi appeared in multi-starrer Twenty: 20. Again, he acted with Mohanlal in Pakal Nakshatrangal, an off-beat movie directed by Rajiv Nath.

An English Literature graduate from Fatima National College, Kollam, Gopi has four children and is settled at Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.

He writes the lyrics of most of his album songs and has also shown his direction skills, directing his own music videos. His music album Coffee @ MG Road was an instant hit, among the young and old alike. He got first prize in Mappilappattu in the Kerala State Youth Festival 1998, where he outshone his ability for quick wit.
Vineeth recently won the AMMA Best Male Singer Award 2008 for his songs Mampullikkavil and Jillu Jillu and also the Best Male new face of the year 2008 by Asianet, for his role in Cycle.

Vineeth is currently scripting a new movie which he will direct with seven new young actors.

He recieved the Kendra Sahitya Academy Award (1996)  for his book titled Gowry.

Jean reviews Malayalam film In Ghost House Inn.

His verdict: Not so funny this time.

Ok, we agree that this film has the three most lovable characters who have kept us in splits over the years with their funny acts in Harihar Nagar series. In the third part, the trio comes back together for another episode of fun and laughter.

In the film In Ghost House Inn, the three friends, Mahadevan (Mukesh), Appukuttan (Jagadeesh) and Govindankutty( Siddique) are invited to ‘Dorothy Bunglow’ by Thomaskutty (Ashokan), who is planning to convert the bungalow into a Hotel resort. And to dispel any fears about ghosts of some people murdered there, he invites his friends with their families to spend a few nights there.

A little afraid at first, the three friends however decide to show their support to their friend and visit Thomaskutty.

What follows is a new combination of horror-comedy.

The movie is packaged as a mindless entertainer and will get the applause of those who never attempt to search for any logic between proceedings.

The highlights of the movie are in its climax and the excellent camerawork by Venu.
Music by Alex paul is passable. As with most sequesls, this one has lost steam after the second one.
The incomparable dynamics of Harihar Nagar is what is sadly missing in this Ghost House, and it goes without saying that it could prove fatal.

Cast: Prithviraj, Sheela, Kalabhavan Mani and others.

The creators of the mass masala movie ‘Thanthonny’ have tried their very best to copy-paste sequences of past hit films to create a potpourri. The result is a confusing mix of past and present, in other words it’s like the meeting of Usthad and Devasuram!

The movie has Prithviraj as a rebel hero, who lives in a joint patriarchal family named Valiyaveettil. Prithvi fondly called Kochukunju is the spoilt grandson of Kochousepph and only son of Kathrina, whose three brothers control the family affairs.

Prithviraj however had a mysterious past. He was thrown out of his home years ago only to return a decade later. One is lead to believe that Kochukunju is an evil sort of person, but only later come to know that in reality he is a do-gooder who holds a big secret. The audience is made aware of the secret only as the film unfolds.

Prithviraj tries hard to fit into the shoes of veteran actors like Mohanlal, even making an attempt at lighter sequences and comic dialogues. Although T A Shahid’s script has some interesting dialogues interspersed in between it struggles to strike a balance between heroism and emotions.

Watch it only if you are a die-hard rebel star of Mollywood.

Thahir (as narrated by Fijeesh, his brother). Thahir was born deaf and mute, but always wanted to be independent. So, like his brother Fijeesh who was in Dubai, he followed his dream of coming here. Soon, he found a position in a company dealing with sun-glasses. Back home in India, his mother missed him, missed hearing him. So every time she called Fijeesh, she asked him to pass along the phone to Thahir. For her, any sound he made was enough. That satisfied her. That’s why we thought we would bury the distance between mother and son…if not through words, they could share moments of togetherness!

Harris: Harris has always been his mom’s pet! His father worked in a labour camp for long years before returning to his home country. Harris was lucky to find employment as a driver in Dubai. But we all know times are hard and it was not possible for Harris to visit home as often as he liked.

Ashik Salam:  He has been in the UAE for the last 13 years. Both his parents are teachers. As we all know, teachers are usually paid little, but to give their son Ashik and siblings a better life, they made a lot of sacrifices. On one instance, when Ashik wanted to go on a school excursion and had no money, his mother sold one of her gold bangles to fund his trip. Three cheers for Ashik’s mother! We truly believe that she deserves this treat.

Anish: He has been in the UAE for the last 3 years. Anish’s father passed away when he was very young and it was left to his mother Saramma to look after the children. She did not remarry. As a lab technician, she had to struggle long and hard to educate him, striving very hard to make ends meet, in the end succeeding in making her son an engineer.
