A comprehensive campaign aimed at increasing awareness around COVID-19 among labourers is being implemented by the Dubai Government.
Launched in March, the initiative has already covered more than 1,800 labour housing units, while teams have also distributed information posters at shops and clinics frequented by blue collar workers, as well as on the buses they use.
The campaign aims to educate labourers about the Coronavirus, how it is transmitted and what essential precautions need to be taken to protect themselves and the broader community.
It also seeks to ensure that labourers are kept up-to-date with the latest instructions from the Ministry of Health and Prevention and the Dubai Health Authority.
Officials say the awareness campaign complements the ongoing sterilisation initiative being carried out across the Emirate.
They also emphasised that the cleaning and sterilising of labour camps is crucial in ensuring the safety of workers during this time.
