Hundreds of Indian expats have returned to their home state of Kerala to witness the biggest temple festival in the state.
Every year, the Shiva temple in the city of Thrissur marks the festival for over 36 hours, with the majestic elephant procession, featuring 30 of the most famous elephants in Kerala, taking the spotlight.
The colourful parasols, beating of the drums and fireworks display are integral to the celebrations.
Listen to Hit 96.7's Shabu Kilithattil reminisce about the Thrissur Pooram, and why its return after a two-year hiatus makes it extra special.
