UAE vice presidents honoured with Order of Zayed for COP28

UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has honoured the country's vice presidents with the Order of Zayed for their pivotal role in successfully hosting COP28.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, were awarded at a special ceremony at Erth Hotel in Abu Dhabi. 

Sheikh Mohamed also honoured COP28 President Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi, for their efforts in achieving historic climate progress through the #UAEConsensus. They were each handed the Order of the Union.

Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Sheikha Mariam bint Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairperson of the Salama bint Hamdan Al Nahyan Foundation (SHF) and Mohammed Abdullah Al Junaibi, Chairman of the Federal Authority for Protocol and Strategic Narrative also received the same title for their contributions towards climate action. 

Meanwhile, Reem bint Ebrahim Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation, was given the Order of the Union for her role in the UAE’s successful hosting of Expo 2020 Dubai.

The UAE’s COP28 negotiating team, along with members of the COP28 Presidency Office and various working groups, were also awarded the First Class Order of Zayed II.

"Together, we reaffirmed the UAE’s continued commitment to driving effective climate action and fostering global partnerships as we collectively work to safeguard our planet for future generations," Sheikh Mohamed highlighted on his official social media handle.
