Dubai Maritime City has completed more than 25 per cent of Phase 1 infrastructure for its commercial development.

The works are expected to be finished in the first quarter of 2021.

The AED 140 million development of the commercial area will enhance DMC's status as a leading maritime services provider.

The project aims at delivering all major and minor infrastructure to support a modern community, such as: main and secondary road networks, public parking areas for 340 units, energy-efficient street lighting, potable water and sewage networks, stormwater drainage, firefighting and irrigation networks, telecom connectivity, a pump station and maintenance of existing services.

DMC said the main contractor is fully mobilised, and all required condition assessments of existing underground services have been completed in Q4 2019.

The Infrastructure Phase 1 will also integrate DMC with the Mina Rashid area that includes the QE2 Hotel, Marina Fitness 72 and other commercial and residential facilities. The site is connected by a causeway to Dubai's major road network.

"The progress made in the development of Phase 1 is significant, highlighting DMC's commitment to create upgraded facilities and services for existing and potential customers," Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, DP World Group Chairman and CEO.
