Emirates offers travel insurance with conflict-cover, free extension

Emirates Airline has introduced the world's first conflict cover for travel that includes medical reimbursement of up to $25,000, hotel stays "during airport closures" and a free trip extension of up to 30 days, offering travellers "greater peace of mind".

In a statement released on Wednesday, the Dubai-based airline said the package takes into consideration all conflict disruptions, including medical cover for conflict-related incidents, backed by airline-managed hotel accommodation and extended-stay support across a range of disruption scenarios. 

In addition, it will include trip cancellation cover, compensation for baggage delay or loss, unlimited medical expense and emergency evacuation cover worldwide. 

The airline added that the conflict cover will also offer free rebooking options to passengers on airlines other than Emirates when the Dubai carrier is unable to offer services.

This is in addition to existing customer-first benefits such as a free date change for tickets booked from 2 April, and the option to ‘hold my fare’ for 24 hours free of charge, giving travellers flexibility, reassurance, and support at every step.

It can be purchased on Emirates' official website at the time of booking or added to existing bookings via Manage Booking from June 17. And, will be available to passengers flying to 27 destinations, including the UAE, UK, Canada, and Spain.
