UAE participates in second day of 10th BRICS Parliamentary Forum

A division of the UAE's Federal National Council (FNC) participated in the second day of the 10th BRICS Parliamentary Forum in Saint Petersburg, Russia.

The delegation is led by Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Defence, Interior and Foreign Affairs Committee in FNC.

It included FNC's members Sarah Falaknaz, Marwan Obaid Al Muhairi, Ahmed Mir Hashim Khoori, and Afra Rashid Al Basti, Deputy Secretary-General of Parliamentary Communication at the FNC.

During the discussion on "The Role of Parliaments in Confronting the Disintegration of the Multilateral Trading System and Overcoming Threats Related to the Outcomes of Global Crises," Marwan Al Muhairi emphasised the crucial role of parliaments in addressing challenges and fostering a cooperative global environment.

He highlighted the importance of supporting multilateral institutions, such as the World Trade Organisation (WTO). He stressed the need to strengthen these institutions and ensure they receive the necessary resources and funding to uphold the principles of free and fair trade.
