Adele's royal performance

Adele is to perform at Duchess Catherine's birthday party. The British royal - who was known as Kate Middleton before her marriage to Prince William - is planning an intimate celebration when she turns 34 next month and was keen to have her favourite singer provide the entertainment. A source said: "Kate has been a huge fan of Adele since her first album, '19', and decided to reach out to her after '25' was released. "She asked her personal assistant to contact Adele's management team in the hope she'd be available for a private performance to celebrate her birthday. "Kate isn't into big birthdays but is having a small soiree for close family and friends and is desperate to have Adele sing an acoustic version of her new material, plus a few of her old hits." And Adele's team "immediately" agreed to the request. The source told heat magazine: "[They said she would be] honoured to do it, providing she could change a few things round in her schedule, and was going to do everything in her power to make it happen." The 27-year-old singer has previously spoken of her love of the royal family. She said: "I'd love a night out with Prince Harry, he seems like a right laugh. I love Kate Middleton, she's brilliant, and I love William." A spokesperson for the singer refused to comment on the booking.
