Eddie Redmayne and Hannah Bagshawe welcome their first child

Eddie Redmayne and his wife Hannah Bagshawe have had a baby girl. The Oscar-winning actor's wife reportedly gave birth to their baby girl, Iris May Redmayne, on Wednesday (15.06.16). A spokeswoman told The Sun newspaper: "Yes, I can confirm it's true." The 'Theory of Everything' star and his wife revealed in January that they were preparing for the birth of their first child, with Eddie admitting they were steadily building up a collection of birthing and parenting guidebooks. He said: "We've got our first book, which is looking at us, and we are staring guiltily as we should be learning how to be parents, but we haven't opened them yet." The 34-year-old actor, who received a second Oscar nomination for his starring role in 'The Danish Girl' alongside Alicia Vikander, previously revealed that despite temptation, his wife had barred him from trying to find out the sex of their baby before she was born. He shared: "It's gonna be a surprise. I'm going to be honest. I was like, 'Maybe we should find out' (and) my wife's like, 'We're not finding out'. She wears the trousers." Eddie - who married Hannah at the private members' club Babington House in Somerset, England - has also been fulsome in his praise of his wife in the past. The English star said: "I feel so settled in my skin. So lucky to have the most wonderful, supportive, beautiful wife."
