Ellen DeGeneres' chat show renewed

Ellen DeGeneres' chat show has been renewed through 2020. The 57-year-old comedian will continue to present the daily 'Ellen DeGeneres Show' right through the 2019/2020 season after NBC opted to renew the show's deal, which was set to run out in 2017. Valari Staab, president of NBCUniversal Owned Television Stations said: "For more than a decade, Ellen has anchored the daytime lineups of the NBC-owned stations, offering our viewers a great afternoon show, delivering a strong lead in for our early evening newscasts and helping to launch new hits." Warner Bros. Domestic TV Distribution TV president Ken Werner, added: "Day in and day out Ellen delivers the best show on television. Ellen and her team produce a completely unique and exciting hour, which is appointment television for viewers everywhere." Meanwhile, Ellen had even more to celebrate after it was revealed that she will receive the People's Choice Humanitarian Award at this week's People's Choice Awards, which she is also hosting. She said: "I am so honoured to be receiving the People's Choice Humanitarian Award. I think it sums me up perfectly as I am both a human and an itarian."
