Marking more than half a century of making music, American rock band The Beach Boys will celebrate the 60th anniversary of their renowned album 'Pet Sounds' at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai on June 11.
The concert is open to all ages, with the band bringing their greatest tunes, including Wouldn’t It Be Nice and Sloop John B, for the first time in Dubai.
Since the band’s co-founder, lead-singer and chief lyricist Mike Love, penned the lyrics to The Beach Boys’ first hit, Surfin' (1961), dozens of the band’s chart toppers have become eternal anthems of American youth, including Surfin’ USA, Surfer Girl, Fun, Fun, Fun, I Get Around, and California Girls.
“Dubai has shown us so much love from afar, and we’ve been blown away watching our audience there grow year after year - streaming in the UAE has climbed by double digits for the past four years,” said Mike Love.
The Beach Boys have sold over 100 million records worldwide and have received more than 33 RIAA Platinum and Gold record awards.
The Rock And Roll Hall of Famers were also honoured at the 2001 Grammy Awards with the Lifetime Achievement Award. With more than five decades of touring under their belts, The Beach Boys have performed more concerts than any major rock band in history.
“We can’t wait to bring The Beach Boys to Coca-Cola Arena for our first-ever show in the city. This night is about sharing the hits and the legacy of Pet Sounds and more in person - bringing this timeless catalog of songs a long way from home to the fans who’ve been with us for more than six decades,” added Love.
Tickets can be purchased at the Coca-Cola Arena's official website.
