Hollywood actor Russell Crowe has made a large donation to repair a restaurant destroyed in the Beirut port explosion.
His donation of $5,000 for Le Chef restaurant drew attention after the GoFundMe organisers Richard Hall and Amanda Bailly highlighted it on social media.
Later, the actor took to Twitter himself to reveal that he had donated on behalf of the late chef Anthony Bourdain, who had featured Le Chef in his documentaries.
The restaurant has raised close to $15,000 so far.
