Singer Taylor Swift has donated £23,000 (AED 111,492) to help a student in London complete a maths course at the University of Warwick.
Vitoria Mario had started an online fundraising page, claiming she was ineligible for government funding and her family could not afford to support her university education.
Making the donation, the American popstar wrote: "Vitoria, I came across your story online and am so inspired by your drive and dedication to turning your dreams into reality.
"I want to gift you the rest of your goal amount. Good luck with everything you do! Love, Taylor."
Victoria, who moved to Britain from Portugal four years ago, had secured two A*s and an A in her A-levels.
