Alberto Fernández is the new president of Argentina.
The centre-left opposition candidate came out on top in an election that was marred by severe economic concerns.
He beat conservative incumbent Mauricio Macri, securing more than 45 per cent of the vote.
Marci officially conceded defeat and has congratulated Fernández.
The two met at the presidential palace to discuss an orderly transition.
