US President Donald Trump has issued a fresh warning to Iran, saying “the clock is ticking” as tensions continue to rise between Washington and Tehran.
"For Iran, the Clock is Ticking, and they better get moving, FAST, or there won’t be anything left of them. TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE!," he wrote in a Truth Social post.
He warned that if the Iranian regime doesn't come with a better offer for a deal "they are going to get hit much harder".
According to Reuters and Axios, Trump’s comments came amid growing pressure over Iran’s nuclear programme and ongoing regional instability involving the Strait of Hormuz and attacks across the Gulf region.
Axios reported that Trump had discussed the situation with his national security team and indicated that the US could consider stronger military action if negotiations fail.
The warning comes as international efforts continue to seek a diplomatic solution, with regional mediators attempting to broker talks between the two sides.
