The popularity of public transport continues to rise in Dubai - with the number of commuters rising by 20 million last year.
According to Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), the network attracted around 589 million riders in total, with the metro accounting for the bulk, followed by taxis and buses.
Meanwhile, the average daily ridership exceeded 1.6 million to register a 3 per cent increase.
