Nine vehicles have been seized in Ras Al Khaimah after drivers pulled dangerous stunts during heavy rains recently.
The police took action after a video of the act went viral on social media. The cars were confiscated in Mazraa and Mina Al Arab areas.
As per the federal traffic law, the offenders face a AED 2,000 fine, 60-day vehicle impoundment and 23 black points for entering flooded valleys and dangerous driving.
They will also be penalised under Ras Al Khaimah's local laws, according to which, parading a vehicle in a way that endangers lives will result in impoundment of up to 120 days along with a release fee of AED 10,000.
