Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs, has attended an emergency GCC Ministerial Council session in Muscat on Tuesday, to discuss the latest developments in the Gaza Strip.
The UAE minister emphasised the importance of collective multilateral action in addressing the current and unprecedented crisis taking place in the Middle East Region.
During the extraordinary session, His Highness said the urgent priority is to protect civilians from the repercussions of the crisis and to urgently work to provide safe humanitarian corridors to deliver relief and medical aid to them.
He also stressed the importance of confronting extremism and violence to restore regional stability and affirmed the UAE's support for a Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The session was called for at the request of Oman.
