A comprehensive investigation is underway into the circumstances behind a fabricated coronavirus story.
In a recent broadcast on the Abu Dhabi Sports channel, a false claim was made regarding the deaths of five people from one family.
The allegation was later denied.
The Abu Dhabi Media Board of Directors has been discussing the inquiry and issued a statement saying appropriate legal measures will be taken.
Abu Dhabi Media has apologised for the broadcast.
