Around 215 Arab nationals have been evacuated from China's Wuhan City and flown into the UAE.
The initiative comes as part of the UAE’s cooperation with the Chinese government to help contain the spread of COVID-19.
The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MOFAC) coordinated with the embassies of the countries concerned to organise the process.
According to national news agency WAM, a special aircraft equipped with the necessary medical supplies and air filtration systems was used to transport the evacuees.
The Arab citizens have been placed in a specialised facility, located in Abu Dhabi's Humanitarian City, where they will undergo medical testing.
They will also be monitored during a 14-day quarantine period by highly-trained medical professionals equipped with the latest technology.
