The Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE) has unveiled a special edition silver coin to commemorate its 50th anniversary.
The coin celebrates the bank’s significant contributions to the development of the country’s banking and financial sector, and its vital role in supporting economic growth, in line with the leadership’s vision to position the CBUAE among the world’s top central banks.
A total of 3,000 silver coins have been issued, each weighing 60 grams. The obverse of the coin features an image of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, along with his name in Arabic and the phrase "President of the United Arab Emirates."
On the reverse, the CBUAE building is depicted, accompanied by the phrase "50 Years of the Central Bank of the UAE," the years 1973-2023, and the nominal value of 50 Dirhams.
Additionally, the CBUAE has launched an online service for the sale of these commemorative coins.
Available through the bank’s website, the service offers a simple and secure purchase process, including instant login via the UAE Pass. The coins can be bought for AED 650, with delivery fees included.
Starting January 22, the public can also access commemorative coins issued by the CBUAE in previous years via the new online platform.
