Abu Dhabi government workers who are aged 60 and above and with a preexisting medical condition have been instructed to work remotely.
This comes after the emirate’s Human Resources Authority (ADHRA) announced a new set of safety measures aimed at preserving the health and safety of all government employees amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Employees, who are pregnant or nursing, or suffer from weak immunities, have also been told to work from home.
The new rule also includes parents with children in year 10 or below.
Meanwhile, unvaccinated government employees returning from abroad will have their quarantine period deducted from their annual leave balance.
If an employee does not have enough annual leave days, unpaid leave will be applied for the duration of their quarantine period.
The recent announcement clarified that those who have received the coronavirus jab may apply to work remotely as they self-quarantine.
