Eight commercial establishments have been fined by Dubai Economy during the latest round of field visits to ensure compliance with COVID-19 safety protocols.
Seven of them were pulled up for their employees’ lack of commitment to wearing masks, while the other one was caught breaching physical distancing guidelines.
The violations were spotted in outlets across various shopping centres and markets in Umm Ramool, Al Muraqqabat, and Ayal Nasir areas.
Their activities included retail, general trade and the sale of electronics.
A fitness centre was also fined in cooperation with the Dubai Sports Council, while warnings were issued to 13 other commercial entities for not placing enough physical distancing stickers.
A total of 656 businesses were found to be fully compliant with the precautionary measures during the inspections conducted on Saturday.
