Driver alert: Road closures in Abu Dhabi

Watch out for partial closures along two major bridges and several roads in Abu Dhabi over the weekend.

Al Maqta Bridge will see its two rightmost lanes in both directions closed from 11:00 pm on Friday until 5:00 am on Monday.

The two right lanes on Sheikh Zayed Bridge leading towards the Corniche will also be closed during the same period.

Zayed The First Street, Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Street, Abu Dhabi-Al Ain Road and Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Street are the other areas that will be affected.

The Integrated Transport Centre has called on motorists to drive with caution and follow the traffic signs in the area.

  • Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Street: Two right lanes will be closed from 11:00 pm on Friday until 11:00 pm on Saturday. Two left lanes will be closed from 11:00 pm on Saturday until 5:00 am on Monday.
  • Zayed The First Street: The left lane towards Al Khalidiyah and two left lanes towards Marina Al Bateen will be closed from 11:00 pm on Friday until 11:00 pm on Saturday. Two right lanes towards Al Khalidiyah and right lane towards Marina Al Bateen will be closed from 11:00 pm on Saturday until 5:00 am on Monday.
  • Abu Dhabi - Al Ain Road (E22): Two left lanes towards Abu Dhabi will be closed from 11:00 pm on Friday until 1:00 pm on Sunday.
  • Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Street: Two left lanes towards Sheikh Zayed Bridge will be closed from 12:00 am on Saturday until 5:00 am on Monday.
