Authorities in Dubai have arrested 88 street vendors and seized several vehicles used to illegally sell fruits and vegetables since the start of Ramadan.
It's in violation of public health and safety regulations, officials added.
Colonel Ali Salem Al Shamsi, Director of the Infiltrators Control Department in the General Department of Criminal Investigations, advised residents against buying food products from unlicensed street vendors due to health risks.
He explained that such items may not have undergone proper quality checks, and could cause serious harm to people's health.
The public have been reminded to contact the Dubai Police to report such violations.
