Dubai Municipality has allocated a team of workers to maintain the cleanliness of public beaches in the emirate 24|7.
The 84-member team includes 72 cleaners and 12 supervisors who will work around the clock to ensure over 19 km of Dubai's beaches remain spick and span.
They will work across three shifts per day, with the beach areas around Deira and Bur Dubai covered by 48 workers, and the beaches of Al Mamzar covered by 24 workers.
"The municipality has provided 216 waste collecting facilities at the beaches of Deira and Bur Dubai with each spaced 50 metres apart. The field teams are also following up on the provision of cleaning services on the night beaches that were recently launched in Jumeirah 2, Jumeirah 3 and Umm Suqeim 1, spanning a total length of 800 metres," said Eng. Saeed Abdul Rahim Safar, Acting Director of Waste Operations Department at Dubai Municipality.
He added that the municipality has established a team to handle emergencies and reports related to waste management and cleaning operations.
The latest initiative is in line with the municipality's efforts to preserve the beauty, sustainability and aesthetics of Dubai's tourist attractions and its various facilities.
It's also aimed at making Dubai the best city in the world to live in and visit and be one of the world's pioneering cities in the field of hygiene.
