A man has been honoured by Dubai Police for going out of his way to return a bag full of cash that he found near an ATM on Sheikh Zayed Road.
The bag contained AED 45,800 in cash, private documents and a cheque worth AED70,000.
Officials praised Muhammad Saleh Al Waqdi for his honesty and honoured him in the presence of his colleagues at Al Barsha Mall.
Brigadier Abdul Rahim bin Shafie, Director of Al Barsha Police Station, led a delegation to Al Waqdi’s workplace to thank him for his positive response.
"Dubai Police is keen on strengthening the concept of community partnership with the police, and reinforcing the sense of responsibility among individuals," said Brigadier bin Shafie.
Al Waqdi thanked the Dubai Police for their gesture and explained that he just fulfilled his national duty by handing the bag to Al Barsha Police Station.
