Dubai Police traffic patrols sprang into action to rescue a motorist whose cruise control system malfunctioned while she was driving on Emirates Road towards Abu Dhabi.

Within minutes of the emergency call, specialized teams were on the scene, coordinating a safe escort and guiding the driver by phone until she was able to bring the car to a stop on the roadside.

Brigadier Jumaa Salem bin Suwaidan, Director of the General Department of Traffic, praised the quick response, saying patrols created a safety corridor around the vehicle to prevent any collisions.

He urged drivers to stay calm in such situations, keep seatbelts fastened, switch on hazard lights and call 999 immediately.

Brigadier bin Suwaidan also shared emergency steps like shifting to neutral, restarting the engine or applying steady brake pressure.

The official emphasised the importance of regular vehicle checks, especially for systems like cruise control and reminded motorists that awareness and quick thinking can prevent serious incidents.
