The General Directorate of Residency and Foreign Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai has reported a record-breaking influx of travellers during the New Year holiday season.
From December 27, 2023, to January 1, 2024, more than 1.2 million passengers passed through Dubai's airports, land border crossings and sea ports.
December 30 marked the peak of this surge, with 224,380 travellers in a single day.
The vast majority - around 1.14 million - travelled through Dubai's airports, while land border points facilitated the movement of 76,376 passengers and seaports catered to 27,108 travellers.
Overall, the six-day period saw 693,018 arrivals compared to 546,610 departures.
