Expo2020 Dubai will mark World Wildlife Day on March 3 with a number of special programmes that shed light on the initiatives that are underway towards conservation.
Additionally, through a series of fun activations, visitors will learn about endangered animals, their importance to the natural world, how they feature in traditional folk-culture and how they can individually contribute towards the preservation of our planet’s biodiversity.
Leading artists, philanthropists and experts will put forward recommendations on how to bolster wildlife conservation efforts, while a series of unique images - provided by UN Environment Programme - will be projected across Expo’s buildings and screens to emphasise the beauty of the wildlife.
Participating countries will retell traditional stories and folktales that feature wildlife, while face-painters will turn children’s faces into representations of the animals featured in these folktales.
In addition to these activations on the day, Expo 2020 will celebrate the diversity and the richness of our planet throughout the event’s six-month duration as part of efforts to bring together youth, changemakers and governments to address global issues.
