The UAE’s General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has praised the courage and swift response of the captain, crew and passengers of flydubai flight FZ1073, saying their decisive actions helped contain the situation and avert more serious consequences.
The GCAA confirmed that the Indian pilot, Captain Smit Machchhar, has safely returned to the UAE, is in good condition and receiving medical treatment.
An investigation into the circumstances of the incident is continuing, led by a team formed from the UAE Public Prosecution following an order from the Attorney-General.
The GCAA said that authorities are following established procedures and coordinating with relevant regional and international bodies, while protecting the confidentiality and integrity of the investigation.
The Authority also added that it will not comment on details or claims currently circulating that could pre-empt the investigation’s findings or affect its course.
The public has been urged to rely on official sources and avoid spreading speculation or unverified information.
The findings and any related developments will be announced through official channels once the necessary procedures are complete.
