A top Greek official says the strategic partnership between Greece and the UAE promotes a peaceful and prosperous region.
In a statement to national news agency WAM, the Deputy Prime Minister, Panagiotis Pikrammenos, said the two countries have forged a strong and strategic partnership, based on a common vision for the greater neighbourhood and a commitment to the principles of international law.
He added they've enhanced relations in a number of areas including the economy, politics, defence, energy, transport, tourism and culture.
Pikrammenos was in the UAE to attend the Greek National Day Celebrations at Expo 2020 Dubai.
"I would like to congratulate the UAE on an excellent organisation of the Expo 2020, the first World Expo to be held in the Middle East region, and at a time that the world is faced with an unprecedented pandemic," he said.
The deputy prime minister added the Greek pavilion at the Expo has thus far received more than 500,000 visitors.
