Climate change was top of the agenda during a phone call between His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and John Kerry, the US Special Presidential Envoy for Climate.
The two discussed joint cooperation and ways to enhance collective international action in facing the repercussions and challenges of global heating.
The UAE's top diplomat reaffirmed the country's commitment to developing innovative and effective solutions that lead to building a prosperous future, while Kerry praised the prominent role played by the UAE in climate action as well as its strategic initiatives to achieve climate neutrality by 2050.
The two also discussed developments in Ukraine and the importance of intensifying international efforts to reach a political settlement to the crisis, while mitigating any repercussions.
Other topics covered included the role of the Abraham Accords in promoting climate action, energy issues and the importance of achieving stability in global energy and food markets.
