His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court, welcomed the Prime Minister of Vietnam, Pham Minh Chinh, during an official reception held at Qasr Al Watan in Abu Dhabi on Monday.
The reception featured a 21-gun salute and a performance of the Vietnamese national anthem.
Prime Minister Chinh greeted senior dignitaries and officials gathered to welcome him to the UAE.
The visit, the first of its kind of a Prime Minister of Vietnam over the past 15 years, is taking place in the context that the bilateral relations are developing well across all fields, especially politics, diplomacy, trade, investment, labour and tourism.
The UAE is currently Vietnam's largest export market in the Middle East and Africa, with two-way trade reaching $4.96 billion in the first nine months of this year, higher than the $4.7 billion recorded in the whole year of 2023.
As of September 2024, the UAE had 42 projects valued at 474.09 million in Vietnam, ranking 52nd among 148 countries and territories investing in the Southeast Asian nation.
His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed also extended his greetings to members of the Vietnamese delegation, which included several ministers, senior officials, and His Excellency Nguyen Thanh Diep, the Vietnamese Ambassador to the UAE.
