A young girl has died, while eight people have been rescued and three others are missing after their vehicles were swept away by flash floods in Sharjah’s Wadi Al Helo.
Police launched the search and rescue operations after receiving three separate reports on Tuesday.
The first incident involved three men whose car drifted while entering the valley despite the road being closed for safety reasons.
One of them was rescued while the other two are yet to be located.
Meanwhile, a father and son were saved in the second mission, but his daughter was found dead, while the search is ongoing for one of her brothers.
Specialised teams also carried out a third operation where they managed to rescue three children and their parents whose vehicle had been swept away.
Authorities have once again urged the public to stay clear of valleys and mountains during heavy rains.
