Over 100 meteors will be visible from the UAE as a spectacular cosmic event is set to light up the skies.
The Perseids meteor shower is famous for producing a sky full of bright meteors as they dart across the Earth’s atmosphere.
Peak viewing is forecast on Saturday night and Sunday morning, when the sky is going to be particularly dark ahead of a new Moon.
The shower is visible to the naked eye; however, a special event is being hosted at Dubai’s Al Awir Desert for those who want the best view.
"The Perseids is one of the best meteor showers to observe, producing up to 60 to 100 meteors per hour at its peak," Dubai Astronomy Group said.
