Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has introduced a bus ride-sharing service using minibuses, bookable through smart apps, to provide fast, flexible, and affordable transportation.
The initiative, in collaboration with three public transport companies, aims to reduce private vehicle use, ease traffic, and enhance Dubai’s sustainable transport network.
Initially covering areas like Deira, Business Bay, Mirdif, and Dubai Festival City, the service will gradually expand citywide.
Users can book rides via apps such as Citylink Shuttle, DrivenBus, and Fluxx Daily, with fares varying by distance and demand. The minibuses, seating 13-30 passengers, offer single-ride, weekly, and monthly subscription options.
Ahmed Hashim Bahrozyan, CEO of RTA’s Public Transport Agency, highlighted the initiative's role in promoting licensed public transport, reducing congestion, and aligning with global trends in sustainable mobility.
