Sharjah Police have impounded illegally modified bikes and cars after receiving several complaints of noise violations from residential areas, adding that legal action will be taken against violators.

Officials said the loud noises could cause unnecessary panic among the public, especially during this period of regional tension.

Sharjah Police said action was taken after several residents raised concerns, adding that regular patrolling in the area will continue.

In a video posted on its official social media page, Sharjah Police said the loud noises can "turn into a sound of disturbance and confusion for people", especially the elderly and children.

Such practices, the officials added, undermine road safety and negatively affect the sense of comfort and security in the community.

They added that most of the violators were youngsters. Parents have been urged to educate their children about the dangers of such illegal practices and its legal implication.
