Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, has co-chaired the seventh session of the UAE-Qatar Joint Higher Committee with his Qatari counterpart Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani at the Zayed National Museum on Wednesday.
Discussions focused on enhancing cooperation in key sectors, including trade, energy, education, culture, and environment.
Sheikh Abdullah noted that non-oil bilateral trade between the two countries reached $13 billion in 2025, underscoring the strength and promising prospects of economic relations.
He also expressed the UAE’s aspiration to further expand partnership horizons with Qatar across sectors of mutual interest.
“My brother, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, we look forward to this session producing outcomes that further consolidate a partnership that advances our joint journey," said Sheikh Abdullah.
For his part, the Qatari foreign minister affirmed the deep fraternal ties between the two countries and peoples, adding that the meeting also provided an opportunity to exchange views on regional and international developments.
He emphasised the need for stronger consultation, a shared vision, and closer diplomatic coordination to mitigate risks, underscoring the importance of continued cooperation between the UAE and Qatar to address these challenges.
Both parties strongly condemned the Iranian attacks targeting civilian sites and facilities in the UAE using missiles and drones, with Sheikh Abdullah thanking his Qatari counterpart for their full solidarity with the UAE.
During the session, the two sides also witnessed the signing of several Memoranda of Understanding (MOU) in transport, food security and agriculture, and investment.
