UAE and Mexico sign economic, investment agreements

Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, has held talks with Mexican Minister of Economy Marcelo Luis Ebrard during his working visit, as the two countries signed a number of agreements.

The two sides explored ways to strengthen bilateral relations and expand collaboration in key areas such as energy, advanced technology and food security were also explored.

Sheikh Abdullah affirmed the depth of UAE-Mexican relations and underscored the UAE’s keenness to build a robust economic partnership, national news agency Wam reported on Thursday.

Both countries signed a number of agreements on economic and investment cooperation, which will see the establishment of a UAE-Mexican Joint Business Council. 

The terms for negotiating a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement between the UAE and Mexico was also signed.

Sheikh Abdullah also held talks with his Mexican counterpart, Juan Ramón de la Fuente and discussed current regional and international developments, and efforts to support international peace and security.
