The first day of the holy month of Ramadan will be Thursday, March 23.
The UAE's moon-sighting committee made the announcement as the crescent moon was not spotted on Tuesday.
This means that Wednesday will be the 30th day of Sha'ban and Thursday will be the first day of Ramadan in the UAE.
As per the Islamic Hijri calendar, each month lasts for 29 or 30 days, depending on when the moon is sighted.
