Emirati astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi has received a surprise call from his father while on board the International Space Station (ISS).
Saif Al Neyadi spoke to his son during the latest 'Call From Space' event held at Louvre Abu Dhabi and said how proud he was of his achievements.
The spaceman is currently in the final stages of the longest-ever Arab space mission having spent six months on board the ISS.
Al Neyadi spoke to close to 300 attendees at Louvre Abu Dhabi via a live link from the ISS, where he discussed the importance of the suit he wore during the spacewalk, the effect of the microgravity environment on his body, and how he maintains his immunity on the ISS, among others.

The 'Call from Space' has granted close to 10,000 attendees the unique opportunity to connect with Al Neyadi, gaining a profound understanding of his mission, life aboard the ISS and space exploration in general.
Al Neyadi is due to return to Earth later this month.
