UAE expands support for Nepal with sixth aid plane

WAM

The UAE has delivered its sixth humanitarian aid aircraft to Nepal, carrying 25 tonnes of food supplies and clothing for communities affected by recent floods and landslides.

The latest shipment brings the total assistance provided through the UAE air bridge to 245 tonnes.

Meanwhile, the UAE Search and Rescue Team is scheduled to return home after completing its mission in Nepal, which included search operations and technical and aerial surveys in affected areas.

Working alongside Nepalese authorities, the team helped locate 18 missing people.

UAE officials said humanitarian teams will remain on the ground to continue relief operations and implement an early recovery programme in coordination with local authorities.

The next phase of support will focus on rebuilding infrastructure, providing housing for displaced families and helping restore essential services and livelihoods.
