Russia's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sergey Lavrov, has received one of the UAE's highest honours.
His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi's Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, presented Lavrov with the 'Order of the Union'.
Meanwhile, Lavrov's deputy, Mikhail Bogdanov was presented with the 'Order of Zayed II'.
The Russian officials were honoured at the Shati Palace in Abu Dhabi.
Sheikh Mohamed and Lavrov discussed ways to strengthen bilateral ties, and reviewed several regional and international issues of mutual interest.
They also touched on the developments of the COVID-19 pandemic and the importance of expanding cooperation in this regard.
