The UAE has announced an urgent relief response campaign to assist those affected by the earthquake that struck various areas of Panama, causing material damage and widespread evacuations.
The assistance, allocated through the UAE Aid Agency, comes under the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The humanitarian response aims to provide essential supplies and shelter materials to mitigate the impact of earthquakes on Panama's affected communities and people.
Chairman of the UAE Aid Agency, Dr. Tareq Ahmed Al Ameri, said the agency, in coordination with the UAE Embassy in Panama, is "working with local authorities and relevant international organizations to ensure the swift delivery of relief aid to those in need".
It will focus particularly on the hardest-hit areas and the most vulnerable families.
"The efforts are being carried out in line with humanitarian assessments issued by relevant United Nations organisations," he added.
Panama had suffered from a 7.7-magnitude earthquake that damaged hundreds of homes and infrastructure across the country's central provinces.
