Mars is a step closer for the UAE as the Hope Probe is now 85 per cent completed.
That's according to the UAE Space Agency and Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre, which said that all the main parts are finished and undergoing extensive testing.
The probe will launch in less than 500 days and reach the red planet by 2021 to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the founding of the United Arab Emirates.
During its mission, the Hope Probe will take a global image of the Martian atmosphere in a first of its kind task for a Mars mission.
The @UAESpaceAgency and the @MBRSpaceCentre have announced that 85% of the Hope Probe project has been completed. It is planned to reach Mars by 2021, with less than 500 days remaining for the launch. https://t.co/eJcN6lQ7gK pic.twitter.com/WGBvDpbJgb
