UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan extended his wishes to the millions celebrating Lunar New Year on Wednesday.
"I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to all those celebrating the Lunar New Year in the UAE and around the world. May the New Year bring you and your loved ones peace, prosperity and joy," the President said on social media platform X.
Diplomatic ties between the UAE and China were established in 1984. There are around 6,591 Chinese brands registered in the UAE and more than 327 trade agencies operating in the UAE.
The UAE hosts a large community of Chinese nationals residing, who are largely involved in the construction sector. The UAE is also China's second largest trading partner in the Arabian Gulf and the largest in terms of buying Chinese products.
In celebration of the Year of the Snake, Umm Al Emarat Park is hosting the “Together in Light: 40 Years of China-UAE Friendship” exhibition, in partnership with the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China and the Chinese Language Institute until February 1.
Global Village's Chinese Pavilion will display an array of cultural shows and authentic dining experiences, as well as a fireworks display.
Hundreds of millions of people across Asia celebrated the Lunar New Year with their families on Wednesday, as they bid farewell to the Year of the Dragon.
