UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has met with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz in Abu Dhabi to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation.
The talks were held at Qasr Al Shati during the German Chancellor’s official visit to the UAE.
His Highness highlighted the strong ties between the UAE and Germany, particularly in energy, innovation and advanced technology, and stressed the UAE’s commitment to expanding cooperation in areas of shared interest.
The two leaders also exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues, emphasising the importance of dialogue and diplomacy in supporting regional and global stability.
During the meeting, Sheikh Mohamed and Merz witnessed the announcement and exchange of several agreements aimed at further enhancing ties.
- A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between ADNOC and RWE on cooperation across the gas and liquefied natural gas value chain.
- An MoU between Masdar and RWE on cooperation in the field of battery energy storage systems.
- An MoU between TA’ZIZ, Fertiglobe and Covestro on cooperation in the chemicals sector.
- An MoU between the UAE Pro League and the German Bundesliga.
