Close to 10,000 students in Yemen are back in school thanks to the UAE.
The Emirates Red Crescent said 13 schools in five governorates have now been restored, allowing thousands to continue their primary and secondary education.
Emirati aid workers conducted extensive repair work after many schools were either shelled by Iranian-backed Houthi militia or transformed into barracks.
The UAE, along with Saudi Arabia, also spent millions of dirhams to pay the salaries of teachers who hadn't been paid for two years.
