The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Defence (MoD), Matar Salem Al Dhaheri, said the four soldiers killed and nine injured were transporting ammunition to a military camp, without giving further details on the nature of incident.
In a statement, Al Dhaheri extended his condolences to the families of the soldiers killed. A delegation from the Ministry of Defence visited their families, wishing them solace and patience.
The deceased have been identified as as Corporal Ahmed Mohammed Rashid Al Shehhi, Private Nahyan Abdullah Ahmed Al Marzouqi, Private Abdulaziz Saeed Sabt Al Tunaiji, and Private Nasser Mohammed Yousef Al Balushi.
The nine injured personnel are currently receiving treatment at Zayed Military Hospital in Abu Dhabi.
On Tuesday, the UAE’s Ministry of Defence (MoD) announced four members of its armed forces have died and nine others were injured, “after they were involved in an accident while performing their duty for the country.”
A delegation of senior officers from the Ministry of Defence, headed by His Excellency Matar Salem Al Dhaheri, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Defence, paid their condolences to the families of the nation's martyrs.
